Compact powder can be surprisingly difficult to get right when you have combination skin. You want enough mattifying power for the T-zone, but not so much that the cheeks suddenly look like they have forgotten what moisture is.
These three powder foundations take slightly different approaches, from stronger coverage to a softer, more natural finish.
1. SKINTIFIC Ultra Cover Powder Foundation
Price: around €8–11
Rating: 8.5/10
This is the option I would reach for when coverage matters most. SKINTIFIC positions Ultra Cover as a full-coverage powder foundation with a smooth matte finish and long-lasting oil control.
On combination skin, that stronger mattifying effect makes sense around the forehead, nose and chin. The finish looks polished and velvety rather than completely flat, although the powder can become slightly patchy around the nose if the skin underneath is dehydrated. A well-moisturised base makes a noticeable difference here.
It feels more like a proper foundation in compact form than a simple setting powder, so I would choose it for longer days or whenever I want blemishes and uneven tone to look more covered.
2. Wardah Colorfit Velvet Powder Foundation
Price: around €4–6
Rating: 9/10
Wardah is the most balanced option of the three. Its coverage can be built from natural-looking to medium or higher, while the velvet finish is designed to blur the appearance of pores and control excess shine.
What makes it especially appealing for combination skin is that middle ground: it mattifies without making the whole complexion look aggressively powdered. The finish still has that soft-focus quality that works for everyday makeup, and it is easy to add a little extra around the nose or over old blemish marks without coating the entire face again.
For me, this is the easiest everyday choice of the group.
3. Dazzle Me Better Than Filter Two Way Cake
Price: around €3–5
Rating: 8/10
Dazzle Me feels noticeably lighter. The coverage sits closer to sheer-to-medium and can be gradually built, but it is not the compact I would choose when the goal is to completely hide stubborn post-acne marks.
Its strength is the finish. Instead of giving the face a very obvious powdery layer, it creates a softer and more natural result. The formula is marketed as a matte two-way cake with oil-control properties, making it another practical option when the T-zone tends to become shiny.
I like this one most for casual makeup days when I want to even things out without turning the base into the main event.
Which One Wins?
Wardah gets my overall pick. It offers the nicest compromise between coverage, oil control and an everyday velvet finish. SKINTIFIC wins when stronger coverage is the priority, while Dazzle Me makes more sense for someone who prefers a lighter, less perfected base.
The real trick with combination skin is not finding the mattest powder possible. It is finding one that knows where to stop—and these three do that in noticeably different ways.
