There are days when I want my complexion to look fresher without feeling like I am wearing a full face of foundation. That is where skin tints fit into my routine.
These three options offer different finishes and shade choices, making them easy to consider when the goal is lightweight, comfortable-looking coverage.
1. NYX Professional Makeup Buttermelt Glaze Skin Tint SPF 30 – Cashew Butta
NYX Professional Makeup Buttermelt Glaze Skin Tint SPF 30 in Cashew Butta is a nice choice for a light-medium complexion with cool undertones. I would reach for it when I want a more relaxed base that still gives the skin some added polish.
The SPF 30 is also a useful feature for a daytime makeup routine, although I would still rely on a dedicated sunscreen for adequate sun protection. Applied in a thin layer, the tint can keep the complexion looking fresh rather than overly covered.
2. HOURGLASS Veil Hydrating Skin Tint – 1
For a fairest complexion with cool undertones, HOURGLASS Veil Hydrating Skin Tint in shade 1 offers a more suitable starting point. I like the idea of using a hydrating tint when the skin needs a comfortable base that does not feel overly heavy.
A small amount can be spread across the face and built gradually where additional coverage is wanted. This makes it particularly handy for everyday makeup when I want the natural complexion to remain part of the finished look.
3. Laura Mercier Long-Wear Tinted Moisturizer Natural Dewy Skin Tint SPF 30 – 0N Silk
Laura Mercier Long-Wear Tinted Moisturizer Natural Dewy Skin Tint SPF 30 with Hyaluronic Acid in 0N Silk is designed for a very fair complexion with neutral undertones. The dewy finish appeals to me when I want the skin to look fresh rather than completely matte.
The formula combines complexion coverage with a moisturizing-focused feel, making it an easy candidate for a quick morning routine. Like the NYX option, the SPF 30 is a bonus, but it should not replace a dedicated sunscreen.
These three skin tints each have their own place. NYX suits a light-medium cool complexion, HOURGLASS caters to the fairest cool tones, while Laura Mercier 0N Silk works for very fair neutral undertones. For everyday makeup, I would keep the application light and let the skin remain visible. After all, the best skin tint look is often the one that makes the complexion look naturally polished rather than obviously covered.
